The Transport Manager will be responsible for:
- Scheduling and monitoring large truck fleet
- Ensuring the Controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all times
- Collaborating with our in-house truck workshop to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy
- Managing drivers, administrators, controllers, and scheduler/s
- Managing the driver training process (truck and truck mounted crane and attachment or skip, roro mechanism and tipper)
- Keeping track of and accounting for all diesel consumption
- Ensuring that all customer transport requirements are completed timeously
- Ensuring that all drivers have the correct documentation and equipment
- Providing written and verbal reporting to, and communication with management that is accurate and timely
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
- Transportation management diploma or equivalent will be an advantage
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a busy transport environment
- Leadership experience and management of a team
- Computer proficiency; packages required: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
