Job Purpose:
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing technical assistance to end-users, ensuring their IT systems operate efficiently and securely. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT deployments, and contributing to data security and management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Manage hardware and software deployments, updates, and upgrades.
- Assist with IT security protocols, including virus/spam control and backup processes.
- Document issues, resolutions, and processes to maintain accurate records.
- Train and assist users in utilizing IT systems effectively.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for system maintenance and repairs.
- Support data management activities and ensure compliance with IT security standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in a desktop support or IT helpdesk role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop hardware and software issues, and familiarity with IT security principles.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with a customer-centric approach.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
