DJ Oosthuizen Accountants and Auditors Inc is looking for a motivated Junior Bookkeeper with clean work habits, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to join our dynamic and friendly team!
Basic Objectives:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records to support the company's financial health and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reports.
- Support the finance team with administrative and bookkeeping tasks to improve overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Maintenance for clients: Assist in daily data entry, tracking of financial transactions, and maintaining organized records.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable for clients: Support the reconciliation of statements, process payments, and manage customer and supplier accounts.
- Monthly Processing of Books for clients: Help complete month-end closing processes, ensuring all records are up to date and accurate.
- Management Accounts for clients: Assist in preparing financial summaries and management accounts for reporting purposes.
- VAT Returns: Prepare and submit statutory VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Tax and Compliance Support: Support with potential taxation work and filings, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Administrative and Secretarial Duties: Perform document management, record-keeping, and other general administrative tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting, administration, or finance.
- Strong administrative skills with a high level of organization.
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook for data management and communication.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work well with others across departments.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Open to change and adaptable to evolving company needs.
- Willingness to improve skills and qualifications, as ongoing training will be provided.
- Attention to detail, clean work habits, and an honest approach to handling financial information.
- No criminal record (background checks will be conducted).
- Must reside in Krugersdorp or Roodepoort for easy travel to the office.
- Must have own reliable transport to commute to work.
Contract Terms:
- This role begins with a 3-month probationary contract. Permanent employment will be discussed following a performance evaluation at the end of the probation period.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Compensation:
- Competitive Cost to Company (CTC) package, to be discussed during the interview process and confirmed in the employment proposal.
Start Date: To be discussed during interview based on availability.
