Truworths is looking for a talented, self-motivated, creative, fashion industry Graphic Designer with experience in kidswear designing original, fashionable placement and textile prints. If you enjoy working in a team, as well as one on one with Buyers, love research and are able to execute a large volume and variety of artworks across various brands, then this is the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides an effective day-to-day service to the business with a particular emphasis on computer design for fashion T-shirt graphics, all over prints, branding etc.
- Displays the ability to positively influence Buyers and various stakeholders in decisions regarding newness and trend with an eye for commerciality.
- Research various graphic artworks on the internet as well as make use of and introduce other related sources in order to present the Buyer with a number of initial graphic concepts.
- Understanding of print types (tile prints/placement/repeat/screen/digital etc.) and colour separations.
- Demonstrates a high degree of innovation in design work on fashion graphics.
- Using appropriate technical skills (Adobe creative suite: Illustrator; Photoshop and InDesign etc.) the Graphic Designer will be required to design and recreate images that are agreed on.
- Good understanding of computer systems and a quick learner on new software.
- Building relationships with the relevant Buyers in order to execute a detailed graphic design brief.
- Obtain necessary approvals and documentation to ensure the appropriate design is selected and signed off.
Qualifications and Experience
- Free hand drawing design skill would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of computer systems.
- Technical skills (Adobe creative suite: Illustrator; Photoshop and InDesign etc.).
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Good time management as well as the ability to adapt to change.
- Receptivity to input and feedback.
- A view of all brands and the overriding differences between them.
