A leading brand in the supply and maintenance of construction machinery across the UK are looking for a skilled plant engineer to join their team.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification

Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines
-
Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
-
Submitting daily timesheets and job cards

Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department

Working closely with the service supervisor

Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers
-
Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use

Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
The ideal Field Service Engineer candidate will have:

Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential)Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment

The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment

Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers

Good IT skills

A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
