Main Purpose: Perform installations, inspections and maintenance on all heating, ventilation, Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance to standards. Key Performance Areas: The usage of all HVACR (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration) materials, equipment and tools required for installation and diagnostic tasks. Fully interpret and understand drawings, technical diagrams and specification charts required for installation and work repair. Apply theories and processes for evaluating and installing electrical system and control gear. Follow procedure for the installation, inspection, testing repairing and maintaining HVACR systems. Follow government regulations regarding the conservation, recovery and recycling of refrigerants and obsolete electronic components. Use information from manuals or vendors to assist with the diagnosing of problems and repair of equipment. Complete job cards on installed, maintained, repaired, inspected and tested equipment. Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time that are reasonable and within capacity. Competencies: High regard for safety principles and procedures. Preferred Requirements: Grade 12 (with Mathematics, Physical Science) and/or N3 Electrical Technical Qualification. Qualified as an Air Conditioner Technician. 3 Years relevant work experience. Knowledge of and skills in all HVACR installations and maintenance procedures. Knowledge of tools; including how to maintain, repair, order parts, proper usage, etc. Safety orientated with knowledge of risk assessments, method statement and work procedures. Valid drivers licence. Computer literate (MS Office).
