Our client is a boutique law firm specializing in property law and conveyancing services. With a commitment to excellence and client satisfaction, they provide comprehensive legal support for property transactions across South Africa.
They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Conveyancing Secretary/ Paralegal with expertise in property transfers to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating smooth and efficient property transactions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and delivering exceptional service to their clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft legal documents, contracts, and correspondence related to property transfers.
- Manage and coordinate the conveyancing process from initiation to completion, including liaising with clients, attorneys, and relevant authorities.
- Conduct title searches, property searches, and due diligence to verify property ownership and assess any encumbrances or restrictions.
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of transfer documents, including deeds of sale, transfer duty declarations, and transfer forms.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between various parties involved in property transactions, including sellers, buyers, banks, and municipalities.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and databases related to property transactions and client information.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and other team members as needed.
Experience and Qualification:
- Minimum of 8 years experience as a Conveyancing Secretary/ Paralegal with a focus on property transfers.
- Diploma or certification in Legal Secretary Studies or a related field preferred.
- Experience with ABSA and Investec bonds.
- Proficient with Ghost Practice, Lexis Convey, e4.
- Proficiency in conveyancing processes, property law, and relevant regulations in South Africa.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in conveyancing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.
