To provide the business with accurate recording, processing, monitoring and reporting of all Financial controls of the 2 Non-Profit Company (NPC) entities within IJI.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that bank recons are prepared, reconciled and journals processed to clear recons.
- Manage and ensure a proper credit approval process.
- Day to day management of all contracts.
- Responsible for Raising Supplier Requisition, Approving Requisition, Receiving Goods, Order Receipting.
- Manage the processing of Invoice / Credit Notes / Debit Notes.
- Co-ordinate monthly payments to suppliers against cash flow forecast for the entities.
- Accountable for relevant General Ledger accounts.
- Manage the settlement of disputes and follow up and resolution of outstanding items with suppliers.
- Fully reconciled and detailed provisions for all accounts within the creditors environment.
- Process month-end including Accruals, reporting and audits.
- Manage the day to day financial and administrative transactions relating to payments to suppliers and supplier queries.
- Ensure fully reconciled trial balance items, delivered timeously with all the detail required for management reporting together with analysis by business unit in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure that sub-ledgers are compliant with the rigors of audit to substantiate values in the balance sheet.
- Maintain accurate database of EFT detail – regular update of banking information.
- Ensure compliance with best practice internal controls and accounting practices.
- Monthly reports of activities, productivity and performance measures (KPI’s) e.g. Settlement discount reporting, Payment days, Accruals Reporting.
- Co-ordinate and prepare Annual Statistics Reporting.
- Establish SLA with key stakeholders.
- Monitor current systems and controls related to assets and capital expenditure to ensure compliance with procedures and to raise concerns regarding non-compliance.
- Prepare monthly operational reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and full year financial reports for board.
- Prepare budgets and quarterly forecasts in accordance with central finance guidelines.
- Liase with Tax, Treasury, other finance departments as required.
Technical Skills:
- Accounting degree or diploma (Btech in Accounting, B.Com or similar).
- 3-5 years' accounting experience.
- Sound understanding of accounting processes and control requirements.
- Ability to document and implement financial processes in a large organization.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data.
- High initiative / self-starter / proactive / anticipate requirements.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Efficient and accurate with high attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
