Job Description:
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure production efficiency targets are met
- Identify and resolve electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults in machinery
- Assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery as needed
- Perform maintenance tasks in compliance with the equipment suppliers' safety guidelines
- Monitor equipment inventory and coordinate orders with the Storeman
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out maintenance on plant machinery promptly
- Maximize plant uptime by proactively addressing potential issues
- Keep detailed logs and reports of daily activities and maintenance work
- Assess and monitor hazardous conditions on-site to ensure safety
- Report any accidents or incidents to the Maintenance Manager immediately
- Always promote and adhere to safe working practices
- Maintain excellent housekeeping practices to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Skills & Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience as a Millwright and/or Electrician
- Proficient in PLC systems
- Experience in the Plastic Industry and FMCG is advantageous
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on mechanical work
- Excellent timekeeping skills
- Willingness to be on standby when required
Minimum requirements:
- Millwright or Electrician Trade Test
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on mechanical work
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
