Main Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide strong analytical skills to inform Merchandise buys for planning groups. The Merchandise Planner will collaborate with teams across various customers in wholesale, DTC, and the broader African region. They will align with account leads and work closely with Merchants and Sales teams across the business to ensure an optimal assortment for every planning group in line with strategy.
Key Results:
- Item plan accuracy (esp core PC9’s) – Item level forecast
- Account management.
- Seasonal Planning – Pre/In Season & Post Season
- Overall Margin / Profitability of the assortment.
- Fill rate of core PC9’s
- Business Performance and Trend Analysis
- Return Rates
- Inventory Health Improvement
COMPETENCIES
Specialized Knowledge/Technical Skills
- Demonstrated forecasting/planning expertise and experience in the wholesale apparel industry preferred
- Proven experience understanding retail planning and executing exceptional quantitative skills
- High level of Excel skills
Analytical Skills
- Ability to analyse trends and interpret data to make informed decisions based on quantitative insights.
- Evaluate performance metrics such as sell-through rates and inventory holding levels to assess account health and adjust where necessary.

- Effective multi-tasker, with strong ability to interact with multi-functional stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a merchandise planning function, preferably in apparel or CPG
- Effective multi-tasker, with strong ability to interact with multi-functional stakeholders
