Job Description
The Role
The Specialist Asset Protection manages security risk-based technology systems, ensuring they are effectively integrated with operational activities. The role focuses on protecting people, products, and assets while maintaining compliance with De Beers standards and government regulations.
Key Performance Areas
- Analyze systems and sub-system data to identify anomalies and efficiency opportunities.
- Implement and manage technology systems to detect irregularities.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation.
- Oversee departmental adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental goals.
- Coordinate technology and personnel systems to manage access and egress from mine properties.
- Supervise preliminary investigations and ensure effective coordination.
- Manage contract service level agreements and update the security contingency plan.
- Provide advice to the Security Manager on operational matters.
- Set and monitor performance standards for subordinates to meet departmental objectives.
- Develop and maintain a system to continuously monitor technology health checks.
Requirements Qualifications And Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/B Tech in Security Management or equivalent in Risk Management.
- PSIRA Grade A registration.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in middle management with expertise in security technology, risk management, and surveillance.
- Knowledge of Voluntary Principles in Security and Human Rights.
- SAPS firearm competency.
- Familiarity with the Diamond Act, Criminal Procedure Act, and related legislation.
- Strong ability to predict and prepare for workforce and stakeholder behavior changes.
- In-depth knowledge of safety policies and the ability to champion safety values.
- Capability to influence stakeholders and foster a culture of security awareness.
- Adaptability and resilience in dealing with change and ambiguity.
