Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Three (3) years of experience that provides specific experience in the safe and efficient operation of both light and/or heavy equipment.
Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid state driver's license equivalent to a Florida CDL A and obtain a valid Florida CDL A driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Various types of semi-skilled manual work performed in maintenance and repair of municipal stormwater systems, irrigation, roadways, and/or related structures, depending on area of assignment.
- Various types of manual, gas, or diesel-powered equipment employed in the maintenance and repair of municipal stormwater systems, irrigation, roadways, and/or related structures, depending on the area of assignment.
- Potential hazards of the materials and equipment used in municipal storm-water and structure repair and maintenance, depending on the area of assignment.
- Occupational safety rules, practices, and personal protective equipment associated with performing duties using heavy equipment, in traffic, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Inventory principles and practices.
