Crew Life at Sea is a leading maritime company that provides exceptional services to the cruise industry. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Supervisor to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for carpentry and a desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of carpenters, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Plan and coordinate carpentry projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using rulers, pencils, chalk, and marking gauges.
- Cut, shape, and join materials using hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and sanders.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim.
- Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed by the team.
- Train and mentor new carpenters on the team.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate with project managers and other team members to provide updates on project progress.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
- Knowledge of maritime safety regulations is an asset.
