Vector’s vehicle fleet includes a food industry first in ‘multi-temperature’ vehicles enabling the company to service business across frozen, chilled and ambient temperature zones on a single delivery.
Job Purpose
To provide dedicated, professional, and safe transportation services to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other senior executives/management. The role ensures timely, efficient, and secure travel while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Transportation Services: Safely transport the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management to meetings, events, and other appointments. Ensure all routes are planned efficiently, considering traffic, weather, and other conditions to optimize travel time.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Management: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the vehicle is in excellent working condition. Schedule and oversee regular vehicle maintenance, including servicing, repairs, and cleanliness. Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle servicing schedules.
- Professionalism and Confidentiality: Uphold a high level of discretion and confidentiality regarding all discussions, documents, and activities during transportation. Represent Vector Logistics professionally, always maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanor.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Liaise with the CEO’s and executives’ PAs to manage and confirm schedules. Ensure punctuality and readiness to accommodate last-minute adjustments to itineraries.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all road traffic laws and regulations to ensure passenger and public safety. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure safety standards are maintained. Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly to the Finance Executive.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain a log of all trips, including dates, times, destinations, and passengers. Assist with ad hoc errands for the CEO or executives as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid South African Code EB driver’s license (Code 8).
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in an executive setting.
- Defensive driving training or advanced driving certification (advantageous).
- Clear criminal record and background check.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Familiarity with GPS systems and route optimization tools. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting basics.
- Skills: Exceptional driving skills with a clean driving record. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
