Job Description:
Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure production efficiency targets are met
Identify and resolve electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults in machinery
Assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery as needed
Perform maintenance tasks in compliance with the equipment suppliers safety guidelines
Monitor equipment inventory and coordinate orders with the Storeman
Respond to breakdowns and carry out maintenance on plant machinery promptly
Maximize plant uptime by proactively addressing potential issues
Keep detailed logs and reports of daily activities and maintenance work
Assess and monitor hazardous conditions on-site to ensure safety
Report any accidents or incidents to the Maintenance Manager immediately
Always promote and adhere to safe working practices
Maintain excellent housekeeping practices to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Skills & Experience:
5-10 years of experience as a Millwright and/or Electrician
Proficient in PLC systems
Experience in the Plastic Industry and FMCG is advantageous
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on mechanical work
Excellent timekeeping skills
Willingness to be on standby when required
Minimum requirements
Millwright or Electrician Trade Test
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on mechanical work
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
