Purpose of role:
To ensure that Learning and development objectives of the company are achieved. Responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating training programs to enhance employees’ skills, knowledge and performance.
Role and Responsibilities
• Ensure that all new employees undergo Induction Training
• Ensure training material is developed/designed for all new employees.
• Ensure that all arrangements are made for a successful completion of Induction training.
• Ensure relevant personnel (Trainer, Trainee, Human Resources, etc) signs receipt and acknowledges the successful completion of Induction training.
• Ensure refresher training is arranged monthly/quarterly/yearly/ etc.
• Ensure Skills Audits are conducted on a yearly basis.
• Assess Skills Audit Scores and arrange relevant training for relevant levels of staff.
• Ensure outsourced/insourced trainer appointed and other arrangements have been made (i.e.: venue hire, communication to relevant personnel, diary availability, operations continuity, etc)
• Application to W&R SETA for Learnership funding
• Deal with appointed Training Company
• Ensure documents submitted to W&R SETA are accurate and correct.
• Together with Training Company, ensure that reimbursed funds are received.
• Ensure all training modules are captured and recorded.
• Ensure every training register is signed by relevant personnel.
• Ensure store Training is conducted.
• Conduct quarterly skills audits.
• Gaps in store training to be arranged with external/ internal training providers.
• Ensure registers are filed for WSP and ATR submission.
• Ensure acknowledgement of training is signed by trainees.
• Ensure refresher training is conducted on a quarterly basis on all training as per skills audits.
• Arrange training assessments via mystery shoppers and other methods to ensure effective training.
• Work with National Operations Manager to ensure that new store staff are trained prior to Store opening.
• Relevant SETA applications to be submitted.
• Submission and Completion of ATR’s and WSP
• Identify training and skills gaps and develop programs to fill these gaps.
• Creating Online Training Videos for Stores and content creation.
• Conduct needs assessments and training evaluations.
• Maintain training records and database.
• Advise stakeholders on training solutions
• Compliance Training – ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Lead the annual needs analysis process across the group, aligning learning initiatives with competency development, talent development, succession planning and identified risks.
• Manage the effective and efficient delivery of learning programs, ensuring high quality execution and a positive learner experience.
• Oversee the implementation of critical programs such as learnerships.
• Ensure compliance with BBBEE and Skills Development Act.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience
• 5 + years relevant experience
• Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Skills Development Facilitation Course by ETDP
• Assessor Certification By ETDP
• Train the Trainer Certification
• OPETDP Diploma and Registered SDF
• Previous experience in Retail Industry
• Microsoft Office Efficiency and basic skills
