Role Overview: Accountant at G4S
Primary Goal: To maintain complete and accurate financial records for G4S, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and upload working spreadsheets and forms, ensuring accurate records in alignment with company standards.
- Invoicing Management: Develop customer invoicing schedules, prepare worksheets, and conduct reviews before submission.
- Accrual and Journal Entries: Perform monthly journal entries, manage wage cost journals, and capture expenses accurately.
- Monthly Reporting: Update the monthly invoice list, compile journal registers, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and support the preparation of monthly reports.
- Logistics Coordination: Work closely with the logistics team to maintain vehicle records, including maintenance, rental agreements, and ownership documentation.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee invoice allocations, confirm bi-annual invoices with operations, and manage petty cash reconciliations.
- Financial Compliance: Uphold existing financial policies, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and support monthly profitability reviews.
- Mentorship and Development: Provide guidance to the bookkeeping team, supporting professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Maintain detailed vehicle records in collaboration with Logistics, reconcile costs, manage fuel accruals, and ensure provisions align with actual expenses.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance preferred).
- 2-3 years of practical experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a sales or related environment.
- Prior experience in the security or services industry is advantageous.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong understanding of organizational goals and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
- Proven experience in meeting objectives, managing complexity, and delivering excellent customer service.
