Purpose of the Role: Responsible for ensuring that all operations on shift/site are conducted in accordance with Company and
Customer's standards and requirements; maintain and improve Quality Standards on shift/site; monitor
all staff on shift, including all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment, discipline, and productivity;
ensure continual operational improvements in all designated areas.

Education & Experience
- Matric
- Team leader certificate
- Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management - an advantage
- Computer Literate in MS Office Applications, V-Motion and SAP.
- Min 3 -5 years experience in a logistics/supply chain environment

- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and shifts
Required to perform any task not specified above as and when required by management.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Supervise Site operations.
- Supervise and track the daily Reprograming & TVECS requirements.
- Responsible for Reworks activities on site, report all deviations to Operations Manager.
- Monitor and report on site Productivity and ensure that all areas work productively and meet their daily targets.
Ensure Compliance of Company and Client Standards - Ensure that all units are stored and parked in accordance with the Clients and Company Quality and Safety Standards.
- Ensure that the correct processes and procedures are implemented and adhered to ensure cycle work.
- Ensure continuous process improvement to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
- Ensure the daily Reworks targets are achieved.
Monitor KPIs - Monitor KPI performance and ensure that operational targets are achieved in line with Customer requirements.
- Adhere to hourly monitoring and tracking of operational processes and report any deviations.
- Andon board to be viewed every hour to make sure intakes are managed and that there are no aging units.
- Ensure that the SQDCE board is updated daily by end off shift
Safety: - Ensure all employees are trained in accordance with the standard level required to
- operate/handle a unit in yard.
- Ensure all Accident/incidents are investigated and key focus on prevention of reoccurrence.
- Focus on Risk Areas and ensure all employees are aware as per Risk Map.
- Attend SHEQ meetings and assist with controlling and monitoring of all aspects of SHEQ awareness.
- Complete, record and report on all accidents and incidents to relevant role players.
- Strong focus on Work Habits to reduce risks to Team Member.
- Ensure 5S principles applied in workplace.
- Ensure SHEQ internal audit plan dates are communicated to SHEQ Co-Ordinator and all departments are always ISO ready.
- PPO tracking document is audited daily.
Quality - Ensure process quality adherence in supply chain to maintain KPI.
- Ensure all quality gates are equipped with the required resources.
- Conduct regular audits on staff to ensure yard standard quality is maintained (VDQI) and maintained. (5S)
- Ensure 100% accurate Scanning activities on SAP and V-Motion maintaining stock accuracy.
- Monitor Exception Reports as well as conduct Yard Bay Verification Audits daily and update V Motion with deviations.
- Ensure when pulling K-sheets that the verification scanner is used, and staff are trained accordingly.
Delivery: - Achieve daily Export Vessel, Staging and PPO plans and escalate any deviations.
- Ensure TP180 runs optimally to prevent backlog and impact on Plant Production and escalate any deviations.
- Monitor and Co-ordinate aging units ensuring delivery KPI is achieved.
- Ensure that daily KPls are updated by end of shift.
- Ensure effective hand over are done and distributed with accurate information by close of business daily
Supervising Employees and Operations: - Ensure that a pre-shift meeting is done daily.
- Ensure that Junior Supervisors has the correct and sufficient resources for the team to achieve the daily targets as planned.
- Plan daily Shift requirements and ensure that staff are effectively utilized in all areas of Operations.
- Plan replacements for absentees and report action required to Operations Manager immediately.
- Visuals hop floor presence 90% with strong focus on prior to lunch and shift end.
- Ensure that all planning of Outsource staff (OS) is done efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure company property is monitored and controlled daily.
- Conduct daily absenteeism tracking and support Operations Manager with return-to-work interview.
- Ensure all employees attend Yard Reborn and DOJO training Bi-Annually.
- Lead, motivate employees to ensure productive workforce.
- Ensure adherence to all rules, regulations, take appropriate corrective disciplinary action where necessary.
- Ensure all employees comply with SHEQ rules and regulations 100%
- PPE adherence on shop floor.
- Ensure all OS are skilled and trained in accordance with Operational Requirement before utilisation in operations
Administrations: - Ensure that all CARS and Incident reports are logged and closed out within 10 working days.
- Ensure all relevant reports are compiled and distributed daily.
- Ensure Pilot vehicle check sheets are completed by Pilot drivers/ Team leaders daily and submit signed documentation to Yard Manager on a weekly basis.
- Conduct daily job observation of all employees and team leaders and submit to yard manager.
- Quarterly appraisals and job observation of all employees and Team Leaders.
- Ensure requirements to Payroll are meet by the required timelines(Overtime, V-time, Leave),
- Ensure all documentation is filled out accurately and captured onto the Intranet e.g. Training registers
- Training assessments / PPE history documentation of staff / Shift reports etc.
- Update departmental equipment check sheets on SHEQ intranet system on a weekly basis and report any faulty equipment to the senior supervisor immediately.
