Shift Pursuit is partnering with an accounting and tax firm based in Durban and we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing complex financial tasks, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to our clients.
Key Performance Areas:
- Oversee and manage client accounts, including preparation and review of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing and filing accurate tax returns.
- Provide financial advice and develop strategies to optimize clients’ financial performance.
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship and training.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and accounting standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Completed SAIPA articles.
- Professional certification – Professional Accountant (SA).
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations, financial reporting, and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
