Context & Environment
To ensure plant Optimization and efficient production by producing a credible workable plan to meet agreed service levels.
- Pro-active identification, correction and modification of plans according to continuously changing circumstances in priorities, market demand, raw material, blending constraints, resource and manpower availabilities.
- Detailed schedule of Production Orders taking into account plant requirements such as capacities (e.g. Batch sizes and Resource capacities).
- Agree production schedules with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Production team, Inbound Material Planner, Quality team & Dispatch Team) in the form of a draft plan.
- Attend daily production planning meetings to review performance and record issues that will impact the Budgeted Production Targets.
- Ensure availability of information is accurately reflected in the system by maintaining relevant information in the Production Orders and making it visible to relevant stakeholders (e.g. Inbound Material Planner).
- Provide capacity information to Ops Control to assist with budget planning via capacity reports. Understand their impact on Production Schedule Adherence (PSA) by accurately and timely maintaining scheduled dates in the Production Orders.
- Proactively monitor and review adherence to standards in production routings and update relevant MRP Master Data as required, for preparation, execution and management of plans.
- Participation in management issues of common interest to "process" owners, e.g., SAP Updates and SAP Related Projects within own area of control - PP Module.
- Responsible and Accountable for the coordination and management of 3rd Party Fillers (Subcontractors).
- Ensure that all KPIs are up-to-date and monitored (in-transit, Open purchases orders, Interface Results, etc). Responsible for the Coordination and Execution of the Monthly and Yearly Audited Stock Reconciliations for the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant and its associated service providers (Subcontractors).
Activities
Production Planning: - Ensure the efficient and continuous operation of the blending and filling operations of the plant by effectively planning and scheduling production orders to ensure efficient and economical use of available resources (Space, materials, machinery, labour).
- Analyse and report on production planning activities against targets and drive initiatives of continuous improvement.
- Prepare purchase orders for Subcontractors, expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Analyse production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations against Marketing FC to determine achievability with current resources.
Working Capital Management: - Conduct monthly stock counts and reconciliations as per Total's business rule.
- Ensure proper stock management of raw & packaging material and bulk finished product by processing all related transactions in compliance with Total's business rules.
- Continuously manage and reduce working capital by optimizing the MRP Tool while not compromising customer service.
HSEQ: - Effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring:
- Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines and legal requirements.
- Promotion of a safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
- Identification & enforcement of HSE competency requirements within area of responsibility.
Governance: - Ensure effective risk management and internal control, including asset management, for area of responsibility.
- Relief in the following areas: Planning Manager, Lubricants Dispatcher, Assistant Planner.
- Organisations: Internal and external stakeholders.
- Challenge: Improve cross-functional integration across departments on all processes related to the MM and PP business streams.
- Work within an Erratic Environment with minimum Forecast and Seasonal Changes.
Candidate Profile
- A tertiary qualification in Production Planning, Stock Management, Production Management or equivalent (M+3).
- Post Graduate Qualification in business / SAP PP Certification - Advantageous.
- 3 to 5 years working experience in the production environment of a Petroleum or Chemical Manufacturer.
- Fully experienced in ERP manufacturing system (MPS/MRP/BOMs/Routing/etc).
- Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills (suppliers, contractors on costs and delivery).
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
