Purpose of the job:
The Senior Brand Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the short-to-medium term brand strategies and integrated marketing plans in line with brand and category to drive engagement with customers, shoppers and consumers, improve market Brand Power, and deliver sustainable & profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Supports Marketing Manager or Head: (Include Category) in the creation and execution of the brands strategy and annual ICP (integrated commercial planning).
- Understands and uses consumer and market insights to build strong brand positioning with identified target consumers.
- Understands and utilizes Demand space thinking to activate the brand in correct channel and occasions.
- Monitors and analyses market performance of the brand and key competitor (market share, volume & value sales, distribution, pricing, promotional activity, etc) to share feedback to team.
- Understands shopper insights & consumer needs, initiating recommendations to improve in-market execution (positioning, pricing, pack formats, and promotional activities) for campaign development.
- Works with Insights & Foresights team to conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics to extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies.
Comms & Campaign Execution:
- Leads development of communication strategy and creation of communication assets.
- Executes multichannel campaigns and leads cross-function teams to ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) deliver across ATL and/or BTL channels.
- Manages new product development projects & relaunches on the market.
- Develops creative briefs and provides creative guidance to agency partners to ensure alignment to brand objectives and performance KPI’s.
- Provides clear strategic direction to Regional Sales and National Trade Marketing teams to ensure in-market execution alignment to brand objectives and performance KPI’s.
- Identifies effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimizes accordingly.
- Presents ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and updates senior leadership on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of campaigns.
Leadership:
- Collaborates effectively with external & internal stakeholders to achieve business targets.
- Manages day to day agency partnerships to deliver brand strategies and activities.
- Leads personal development and career development.
Budget Management:
- Develops marketing budget in line with the brand plan, ensuring effective allocation of resources, maximizing ROI, and delivery against performance KPI’s.
- Monitors and reports ATBTL expenditures keeping spend within budget and administration parameters.
- Negotiates agency rates in collaboration with cost consultants.
Job Requirements:
1. Education:
- A relevant and recognized Bachelor’s, Masters or Post-Graduate qualification in Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Business Science or related field.
2. Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Marketing and Sales in an FMCG environment.
- Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and FMCG environment.
- Proven experience in identifying target audiences and developing cross channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate consumers.
- Proven success in developing & implementing multi-channel marketing plans and campaigns that deliver against performance KPIs.
- Strong project management and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle multiple campaigns and timelines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets.
- Budget management experience.
