An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Landscape Architect within the Council’s Environmental Planning Team, in the Planning Department. The Environmental Planning Team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the Planning Department, providing specialist advice on landscape architecture, design, arboriculture, ecology and heritage with a mission to improve and protect the varied and high quality environments of Cheshire East.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Landscape Officer, you will have a core remit to secure the best landscape outcomes for development in Cheshire East through managing a case load of planning consultations and appeals. The role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including:
- Developing landscape guidance and policy for the Local Plan;
- Preparing and managing landscape planning consultations, including visual and landscape assessment advice;
- Advising on landscape design matters across a variety of projects, and managing implementation.
Cheshire East is one of the busiest Planning Authorities in the country and we have a really diverse portfolio of work. Accordingly the role is also really diverse and no two applications (or weeks!) are the same. The role is offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) and we work flexibly on a hybrid model, with a mix of working from home and from our main offices in Crewe and Macclesfield. Starting Salary: £34,314.
