Job Description:
The purpose of the role is to manage security risk-based technology systems and ensure these are fully integrated with security operations to protect people, product and other assets at the lowest cost according to organisational objectives. The role ensures that security systems, policies and procedures comply with De Beers Managed Operations standards and relevant government legislation.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Manage systems analysis and other sub-system’s data and processes to identify system or process anomalies and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Implement technology systems to manage detection of irregularities.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation.
- Manage and monitor departmental adherence to Safety, Health and Environment program goals and objectives.
- Integrate personnel functions and technology systems to effectively manage access into and egress from mine properties.
- Ensure the coordination of preliminary investigations.
- Manage contract service level agreements.
- Manage and update Security contingency plan.
- Advise the security manager on relevant security operational matters.
- Manage subordinates' key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and acting to correct deviations to achieve the departmental objectives.
- Develop a system to continuously monitor technology health checks.
Qualifications:
The successful incumbent must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree/B Tech Security Management or equivalent related to Risk Management.
- Registered with PSIRA Grade A.
- Experience at middle management or equivalent environment with exposure in security technology and related application, risk management and surveillance.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Voluntary Principles in Security Human Rights.
- Knowledge and application of industry legislation, i.e. Diamond Act, Criminal Procedure Act.
- Ability to predict and prepare for the impact of potential changes, decisions or outcomes on the behaviour of the workforce and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and the important role of consistently demonstrating required behaviours and championing safety values.
- Ability to influence stakeholders to improve security awareness and culture.
- Resilience and the ability to adapt to change and deal with some degree of ambiguity.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
