Purpose of The Position:
Liaise with Origin stations and obtain shipping details and documents and ensure the timely capture of RCG information.
MUST HAVE CARGOWISE EXPERIENCE
Duties and Accountabilities:
1. Obtain Shipment details and documents
• Request shipping documents and shipment details from Origin, to start the Clearing process at destination.
• Quality check the pre alert as to ensure the correct selling rates were applied and that all documents are present, bills, (air/ocean), suppliers’ invoice, packing list, any certificates and origin agent’s invoice.
• Provide the operations department with required documents in time to allow clearance without additional costs, such as storage
2. RCG
• Ensure that relevant shipment information is captured in Cargo Wise to transmit SARS RCG information.
• Implement KPI’s that measure RCG Capture success rate
• Implement processes to streamline the RCG activity
• Support other RCG members and co-ordinate the RCG submission process on behalf of the team.
3. Vessel Tracking
• Track and trace vessels on route.
4. Communication
• Keep Client, Client Services Representative and Key Accounts Manager updated re-shipment events daily via e-mail and status reports.
Freight Rates
• Assisting with the updating of freight rates on the Master Sheet and client rate sheets as received from carriers.
Knowledge & Experience
• Matric or equivalent of Senior certification
• Computer literate
• All modes – Air, Ocean & Road
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and RCG submissions
