Job Summary
The Vehicle Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a vehicle storage yard,
ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized management of vehicles. This role involves supervising a team
of yard personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, managing vehicle movements, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in vehicle yard management, logistics, fleet management, or a similar field, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing vehicle supply chains, including procurement, production, and distribution processes.
- Experience with supply chain software and data analysis tools
Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the vehicle yard, ensuring all vehicles are stored, tracked, and moved efficiently.
- Oversee vehicle parking, organization, and retrieval to maintain an orderly and safe environment.
- Manage vehicle flow in and out of the yard, ensuring compliance with scheduled deliveries, pick-ups, and inventory requirements.
- Ensure all vehicles in the yard are accurately tracked, logged, and categorized using inventory management systems (e.g., barcode or RFID systems).
- Perform regular inventory checks to maintain accurate vehicle counts and ensure vehicles are correctly labeled and documented.
- Coordinate with inventory managers, logistics teams, or sales departments to ensure that vehicles are available for distribution or delivery when needed.
- Ensure that vehicles are handled carefully and are kept in good condition while stored in the yard.
- Coordinate with service teams for any vehicles requiring maintenance, cleaning, or repairs while in the yard.
- Monitor vehicle condition and report any damage or issues to the appropriate departments for resolution.
