Job Description
A leading distribution company is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team. You will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting their commitment to sustainability through effective financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting processes up to trial balance.
- Oversee creditors, reconciliations, and VAT submissions.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and other financial regulations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop financial strategies.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting software (Pastel Evolution, Zoho Accounting).
- Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Participate in financial audits and assist with the preparation of audit documentation.
Requirements: - BCom degree in Accounting or Finance or similar NQF qualification.
- 2 to 5 years of accounting experience.
- Bookkeeping experience to trial balance.
- MS Excel essential.
- Proficiency in Pastel Evolution and Zoho Accounting is preferred.
- Logistics and procurement understanding an advantage.
- Creditors experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
