A leading financial services provider based in Cape Town is seeking a Treasurer to oversee cash and liquidity management and support treasury operations within their Finance Department.
This exciting opportunity places you at the heart of the organization’s financial strategy, reporting directly to the Treasury Manager. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external partners, such as banks and auditors, ensuring financial operations run smoothly.
As Treasurer, your key responsibilities will include cash flow forecasting, optimizing surplus funds, managing bank relationships, and supporting the implementation of financial risk strategies. You’ll contribute to business growth by ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic initiatives while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and accountability.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for structured processes, effective team collaboration, and a drive for analytical problem-solving. Success in this role will involve maintaining seamless cash and liquidity management, fostering strong relationships with partners, and delivering insightful financial reports to senior management.
Key qualifications for the Treasurer :
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance (Essential)
- CA(SA) preferred
- 3 Years of Treasury experience
- Experience in multinational organisations (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
Key duties for the Treasurer include but are not limited to :
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for pay-out partners and internal operations
- Assist in preparing short, medium, and long-term cash flow forecasts
- Manage relationships with banks and pay-out partners
- Support the Treasury Manager with financial risk management strategies and reporting
- Oversee treasury accounts with external providers and partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and ensure accuracy
- Contribute to the development and implementation of treasury policies and controls
- Attend and document treasury-related requirements during product launch meetings
