STAFF VACANCY - STELLENBOSCH

POSITION AVAILABLE – REGISTERED NURSE - FIXED TERM CONTRACT

We are looking for a reliable, loyal, and efficient individual to join our Wellness Team to assist with management of our Clinic from Mondays to Thursdays – 12-hour shifts – 06:30 to 18:30.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):

BASIC CARE

General medical care of Adults with Special Needs.
Regular monitoring of general health of these individuals on a weekly/monthly basis – case specific.
Implement, monitor, and maintain dietary requirements, food allergies, as well as other general food requirements.
Apply preventive medicine.
Checking weight, blood pressure, and chronic diseases.

MEDICATION

Handle all practical arrangements regarding the administration of medication.
Control over administration of medication.
Manage and obtain ready-prescribed medication from clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies.
Manage the Blisterpack process with the respective service providers.
Ensure that dentistry, dental hygiene, ophthalmology services, and regular clinic visits are carried out.

ADMINISTRATIVE

Management of Beneficiary Medical Files.
Responsible for gathering all medical information required such as medical aid information, etc.
Correspondence with families and respective service providers.
Attendance of weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings.
Weekly meetings with Supervisor.
Daily handover to Care Provider Coordinator and RN Night.
Responsible for up-to-date information in the Clinic for DOH inspection purposes.
Other associated duties.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have a passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly motivated, energetic, and able to handle pressure.
Team player.
Strong organisational skills and coordination skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Own Transport and valid Driver’s License.
Afrikaans and English (read, speak, write) compulsory.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SANC Registered and up to date.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a similar environment advantageous.
