Our client is an established main contracting and principal contracting specialist in the fit-out sector, renowned for delivering high-quality finishes and exceptional service standards. As the company continue to grow rapidly, predicting to expand from ca £5 million turnover to ca £12 million in the next year, they are focusing on building their commercial and finance departments.

They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Finance Assistant with experience in the construction industry to join their finance team based in Uxbridge. The successful candidate will support their finance department with day-to-day financial operations, providing vital assistance to ensure smooth and efficient financial management within the company. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong foundation in finance, looking to build a career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment transactions.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all documentation is properly filed and organised.
Support the finance team in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist with budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring all expenditures align with the allocated budgets.
Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
Liaise with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
Participate in audits, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.

Requirements:

A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience working within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Eagerness to learn and develop within the finance function.
