We are looking for an experienced Software Tester for a National Company in Port Elizabeth.
Purpose of the Position
The Software Tester will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through a combination of manual and automated testing approaches.
Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric) + Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Software Testing or similar
ISTQB certification or equivalent will be advantageous
Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Software Tester, with a focus on both manual and automated testing.
Strong proficiency in Cypress and Cucumber frameworks for automated testing.
Excellent manual testing skills with attention to detail.
Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
Experience with bug tracking and test management tools.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Understanding of Agile development processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred skills that will be advantageous:
Experience with additional testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
Knowledge of JavaScript and Vue.js.
Familiarity with BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) practices.
Experience with performance and security testing.
Responsibilities:
Automated Testing:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and Cucumber.
Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
Execute automated tests and analyse results to identify and report software defects.
Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in automated testing.
Manual Testing:
Perform thorough manual testing of software applications, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
Create and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
Conduct usability testing to ensure a positive user experience.
Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing.
Document and report bugs with clear, reproducible steps.
Verify bug fixes and perform retesting.
General:
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with the development team to improve overall software quality.
Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Mentor junior testers and share knowledge within the team.
