Our client a steel fabricator and manufacturer is urgently looking to employ an experienced Production Manager at their organization
Location: Arnoldton, East London
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Be trade tested as a boilermaker/toolmaker/fitter and turner
- 6+ years of Workshop Management experience in steel manufacturing or fabrication
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications, interpret, plan and manufacture accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Be trade tested as a boilermaker/toolmaker/fitter and turner
- Manage all activities within the production process, including maintenance and the workforce.
- Interact with Sales team and Operations manager on new projects, project scheduling and completion dates
- Planning and solving production challenges as they arise ensuring enough resources on hand
- Handle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production.
- Analyse budgets and continuously control production costs, resource requirements and identify/rectify waste measures.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained
- Ensure that manufacturing stays on schedule, within budget, and achieve the desired output goals.
- Create and implement organisational/production changes on an operative level.
- Ensuring products are manufactured to a certain quality standard
- Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff and evaluate the performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
- Adhering to all health and safety standards
- Review workers performance and identifying training needs
