Join us as the Head of Strategic Controlling and Business Planning, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction and financial performance. In this full-time, permanent position based in Karlsruhe, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning, business strategy, and controlling functions, ensuring we meet our ambitious goals for growth and sustainability.
Your mission
- You are responsible for overseeing and executing the annual planning process for the Vulcan Group, including revenue, cost, and investment forecasting.
- You steer the strategic planning process, developing and modeling the business plan in close collaboration with the management board.
- You ensure central controlling and quality assurance of financial reporting, maintaining accuracy, transparency, and compliance with internal and external standards.
- You act as a key advisor to the management board, offering strategic insights and recommendations on all business-related matters.
- You establish and utilize modern controlling systems (e.g., Business Information Warehouse) to provide strong financial and business intelligence across the organization.
- You conduct detailed profitability analyses and support M&A and other strategic projects, aligning financial objectives with overall business strategy.
- You have a degree in business administration with a focus on controlling/finance and around 10-15 years of experience within financial controlling.
- You have extensive leadership experience in controlling, business development, and strategic planning, ideally within a larger corporation or a scale up company.
- You possess strong analytical skills and deep knowledge in corporate valuation and financial modeling.
- You have experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and bring insights from working across various industries.
- You are fluent in both German and English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- You are a strategic thinker with the ability to drive long-term business growth while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- You are adaptable, resilient, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexible working hours as well as possibility for mobile working. (Mobile working possible on a daily basis by arrangement but in this position at least 3 days in the office in Karlsruhe).
