Minimum Requirements:
- Must have experience in a business development-focused role in the learning disability care sector.
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
- Established contacts in local authorities and ICB’s in the Northwest.
- Must own a car and have a valid driver’s license.
The Role:
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for maintaining and growing the company’s external relationships to increase visibility, while overseeing a period of growth in the near future. They will develop the appeal of services and position the organisation’s offering to buyers in local authorities, before negotiating and securing placements. The successful candidate will track markets and trends, recommend new service models, and help to strategically guide the business in the future. The Head of Business Development will also collaborate with operations heads across multiple teams and be a key player in leading strategic development internally.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in how business development and commissioning works in the social care sector; they will have held prominent, BD-focused roles in the sector and will already have established contacts within local authorities. Furthermore, they will possess a firm understanding of the learning disability care sector – how services operate on a day-to-day basis and ways in which these portfolios can grow. Applicants must be comfortable communicators with strong prioritization skills, who are able to assess tender opportunities and lead the bid process.
Interview Process:
There will be a two-stage interview process:
- An informal Teams interview with the owner of the business.
- A formal, competency-based interview with the owner.
