Their offices are situated in Paardevlei, Somerset West, with 35 young and energetic permanent employees and 30+ freelance employees. Their services focus on sustainable certification, including organic, fair trade, and Rainforest Alliance.
Overall Job Summary:
They are hiring a Finance Manager to be based at their office in Somerset West to start in December or as soon as possible. You will form part of an existing financial team (1 direct report) and report to the General Manager. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a small (but fast-growing!) company through managing all financial matters, compiling relevant financial reports, and ensuring tax compliance. As part of the group, you will also gain valuable international experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Forecasting and budgeting at subsidiary level
- Managing month-end closure processes
- Overseeing the finance team’s performance
- Capturing and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (IT/VAT/PAYE)
- Administer the payroll function (SimplePay)
- Collaborating with other departments reliant on financial data
- Taking charge of general tasks within the finance department
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Tertiary degree in accounting or finance
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
- Minimum 2 years related work experience
- Practical accounting experience including the preparation of financial statements
- Any managerial experience will be beneficial
- Excellent English and Afrikaans communication skills
- Good planning and general management skills
- Dynamic, innovative, and willing to go the extra mile
- Interest in agriculture and/or sustainability
Package & Remuneration:
Remuneration: Market-related salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
Type of Contract: Permanent (6-month probation)

Should the probation successfully lead to a permanent position, the following will be applicable:
