Business Analyst (Cape Town)
About the role:
Role Purpose:
- The main purpose of the job is to identify, analyze, and solve business problems by gathering and interpreting data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending solutions.
- In doing so the business analyst helps the company implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or programme, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.
Stakeholder collaboration and relations management:
- Lead discussions with customers and other stakeholders to determine and understand their expectations, processes, and business requirements.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the implications of the proposed solutions are understood.
Identifying, analysing and solving business problems and recommending technical solutions:
- Gather, understand and communicate business requirements in the form of functional/technical specifications.
- Understand from a technical point of view whether requirements are viable.
- Select and report on best solutions evaluated to address the business requirements in terms of scope and budget.
- Analysing and documenting business processes.
- Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off on the specifications.
Identification and resolution risk factors relevant to the project:
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies.
- Provide viable solutions and opportunities as they arise and identify opportunities for improvement on solutions.
Technical Advisory and Documentation:
- Provide expert consulting services on Ukheshe services and platforms and related 3rd party platforms.
- Document solutions and platform enhancements in relevant Ukheshe customer documentation.
Project Execution:
- Translate functional/technical business requirements into Jira tickets for implementation by the development team.
- Creation of Jira ticket creation based on the work being done. (Testing, New Project, support, etc).
- Be the point of contact between developers and business.
- Conducting UAT testing and reporting issues using Jira tickets.
- Managing customer UAT progress and completion.
Technical Support:
- Provide 3rd level technical support for live projects.
- Perform root cause analysis and debugging to address customer issues.
Requirements:
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related discipline.
- Completed or currently completing a Business System Analysis course.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
- Sound understanding of mobile applications, web-based applications, and backend systems.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal relationships and customer management skills.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment.
- Business acumen.
- Knowledge of various systems and the ability to learn/ master new software (Jira, Smartsheets, Draw. Io, Confluence, Google Drive, Microsoft Office).
