Introduction
Clicks is looking for a Transport Analyst to analyse and monitor all aspects of transport including Transport Management System, last mile service delivery, including but not limited to supplier relationships, operational requirement, creating efficiencies through routing and scheduling and administration functions in line with service requirements. The transport analyst will focus on the critical internal processes that will have the greatest impact on customer satisfaction and achieving the Groups’ financial objectives. Based in Montague Gardens Distribution Centre (Cape Town).
Job Objectives
- Overall planning, co-ordinating, and monitoring logistics operations relating to transportation.
- To monitor and co-ordinate routing and scheduling practices across all Distribution centres and cross dock facilities.
- To work with dispatch managers/supervisors at each facility to ensure routing and scheduling plans are met. Play a co-ordinating role in aligning with warehouse management in order to meet route cut off times in order to ensure customer service commitments are met.
- To ensure standard order dispatching practices are standardized across all distribution centres and that SOP’s are monitored and measured.
- To ensure that tracking processes are in place to measure and manage performance on a weekly basis and reported for weekly scorecard meetings.
- Set up tracking and monitoring across all sites to manage the reverse logistics process by ensuring that pick-ups are done as per SLA via courier, owner driver and owned vehicles.
- To ensure that customer queries are processed/resolved. Tracking in place and reporting on a weekly basis at scorecard meeting.
- To develop customer relationships to maximize the customer experience.
- To work on initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
- To manage the HR management component of the department, including but not limited to performance management, talent identification and management, succession planning, training and development, disciplinary action, and employee wellness.
- To manage fuel usage and cost across all facilities and ensure that processes are in place to manage stock and to curtail financial losses related to fuel.
- To manage courier relationships regarding holding couriers to contractual SLAs.
- To adhere to strict safety protocols.
Job Related Knowledge
- Distribution management experience, preferably in a temperature-controlled environment
- Knowledge of warehouse and transportation governance and compliance procedures
- Basic financial knowledge skills cost control, budgets, and income
- Good knowledge of transportation networks in South Africa and preferably cross border, routes, and network
- Trend Analysis system integration experience

Job Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years experience in logistics, outbound, operational distribution related environment, of which 4 years should be in management
- Understanding of routing and scheduling networks systems
- 10 years experience in transportation systems network systems and 5-8 years should be in management
- Large Fleet Management handling within SA and cross border.
Education
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant degree/diploma in Transport/supply chain/ warehousing or similar
