Job Description: The successful candidate will report to the Cellar Master and will be responsible for the following:
- All aspects of quality wine grape growing
- Soil management
- Pruning
- Establishment of new vineyards
- Pest and weed control
- Canopy management
- Irrigation
- Harvesting
- Management and development of personnel to improve productivity
- Record keeping and production reports
- Quality management i.e. compliance with IPW, WIETA and Fairtrade accreditations
- Management of grape production budget and operating costs in collaboration with management
- Management of off site vineyards under contract and communication with growers, to optimize quality
- All other functions and duties related to the position.
Qualifications: - Relevant tertiary qualification
- Approximately 3-5 years' experience in a similar management position
- Good knowledge of farm equipment and mechanical skills
- Knowledge of relevant quality control systems
- Excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
- Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, EzyWine)
