Managing the unit's staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage at all times, as well as managing performance and staff development.
Ensuring the unit is properly equipped with necessary medical equipment and supplies, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the unit operates in compliance with regulatory requirements, such as those related to patient safety and infection control.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
Overseeing patient care, including the management of high-risk pregnancies and complicated deliveries.
Monitoring patient outcomes and tracking key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the unit is meeting quality standards.
Managing the unit's budget and financial performance, including monitoring expenses and revenue, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, and staff, and ensuring that the unit provides compassionate and patient-centered care.
