We’re hiring! We’re looking for a smart, innovative BI Engineer to join our team and shape Pargo into a leading data-driven business. Join us and be part of a fast-growing business that is disrupting the ecommerce delivery landscape in South Africa.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of BI tooling used to report on and analyze Pargo’s business intelligence data. You will be collaborating with the data team and business stakeholders to create dashboards and reports, and provide insights as requested.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a distributed team to create dashboards and KPIs to show the business performance to management
- Collaborate with data engineer to create specifications for new data structures and ETL pipelines
- Build various data visualizations to tell the story of trends, patterns, and outliers
- Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools
- Modify existing reports, extracts, dashboards and cubes as necessary
- Collect, analyze and share data to help make strategic product decisions
- Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurring reporting and in-depth analysis
Requirements
Someone who is aligned to our values and approach and:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or information systems or related field
- Experience in a BI or Data Visualization role advantageous
- Experience with SQL, SQL Server, ETL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS software, systems, and programs
- Experience with Python, redSHIFT, Cloud, TSQL, and R language software and systems
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, etc
- Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting
- Comfortable making decisions and managing stakeholders
- A problem solver and critical thinker
- Familiar with version control and relational databases
- Based in Cape Town and can be in our office in Cape Town City Centre for 2-3 days a week
