Refrigeration Technician
Our client requires the services of a Refrigeration Technician to lead and supervise the maintenance and servicing of all refrigeration units.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key performance areas:
Installation, maintenance and servicing:
- Carry out cabinet installations as needed
- Repair cabinets and service cabinets
- Responsible for correct completion, signing and stamping of job cards and delivery notes by customer representatives
- Make decisions on site about the service or maintenance of the units
- Ensure site is clean when maintenance is completed
- Carry out duties in strict compliance with Health and Safety standards
- Responsible for the reconciliation of expenses related to jobs
- Minimize and avoid job recalls
- Supervise all technical staff on site
- Responsible for the good conduct of staff at clients
- Ensure all staff wear corporate clothing and are well presented
Maintain and care of company assets:
- Plan maintenance of vehicles
- Complete logbook for vehicle
- Ensure safety of staff and products while driving and parked
- Ensure vehicles are always clean and in good condition
- Ensure safe keeping of tools at all times
- Liaise with customers on site in a professional manner
- Ensure customer satisfaction on completion of task
Provide in-house training and support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to service partners and assistant technicians
- Assist with monthly stock takes
- Ensure that Helpdesk receives all documentation on time and complete.
Desired Experience & Qualification
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a Commercial Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Test will be advantageous
- At least 3 years relevant working experience with air-conditioning or refrigeration servicing
- Safe Handling & Gas Certification will be advantageous
- Computer literate – (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Must have working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
- Must have great interpersonal skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to be on Standby
