A position has arisen in an accounting firm for a Senior Consultant - Audit and Consulting in the consulting division for a 4-month fixed term period which is subject to extension if there is more work to be completed. The purpose of the job is to; To assist with the preparation of financial statements for the public sector. Management of junior staff members of the projects. Review of work of staff members. Preparation of progress reports on the projects. Ad Hoc Projects. Required outputs: Functional To work for the firm to assist project management in the public sector Preparation of GRAP financial statements for municipalities Preparation of the audit file supporting the financial statements Provide audit support to the client during the Auditor General audit. Management of the project team members on the job Approving time sheets of the project staff Review of the work of the junior staff members Providing direction and supervison of junior staff members Attending meetings with client providing status updates of the project implementation Provide technical support on the preparation of the financial statements including interpretation of the new GRAP standards and applicable legislation in the preparation of financial statements in the local government. Ad Hoc projects, such as resolving accounting problems in an entity. Peer reviews as well Liason with the company directors on the project implementation Designing the internal control environment in a municipality utilising the SOPs The ideal candidate should posses the following attributes; Proficient in the use of caseware in the preparation of GRAP financial statements. Knowledge of accounting and finance processes. Good management accounting skills. Advanced business report writing skills. Proficient in MS Office suite. Presentation skills. Excellent Project Management Skills. Must possess a minimum of the following qualifications; B Com Degree in accounting or equivalent, CA (SA) an added advantage (not a must) Must have completed articles of clerkship
