Snr Legal Contracts Manager – Manufacturing and Construction
Our company is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and supply of unique physical perimeter security barriers. We currently require the services of experienced hard working Snr Legal Contracts Manager to join our company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Vetting of contracts, terms and conditions for credit applications and supplier T&Cs;
• Centralized source for all contracts;
• Manage risk within contracts under the guidance of Departmental Manager: Legal;
• Review all “Conditions of Contract” included in contract documents to have a detailed understanding of contractual setup of each contract. Organize and maintain a mapping of main contractual responsibilities;
• Assist Project Managers/ Regional Services Managers to prepare and submit contractual claims, contractual notices, extensions of time where applicable, both with Clients and Sub-Contractors;
• Draft Company resolutions for signature;
• Continuous Liaison of all stakeholders;
• Vetting of tender/ bid terms and conditions as well as draft contracts at tender stage;
• Assistance with gathering claims documents and supporting evidence;
• Assist with reviewing and drafting of contractual correspondence;
• Evaluate Customer commercial terms and provide guidance to ensure best practice compliance with Company policy;
• Vetting and assistance in drafting lease agreements, guarantees, services agreements etc;
• Document management and filing;
• Assistance with insurance claims (collecting claim notices and required documents);
• Drafting of policies and procedures;
• Advise on and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation;
• Vetting and drafting of SLA’s, MOUs and NDA’s commercial management support of all contracts;
• Contribute to the implementation of legal commercial contracts processes and provide templates to entities within the group;
• Employee may be required to perform any other adhoc duties required by your designated departmental manager;
• Strong emphasis on contract filing, administration and data capture on various systems such as CRM;

REQUIRED COMPETENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification (Paralegal, LLB or studying towards law LLB/ Law Degree and/or BCOM Law, contract administration diplomas and/or contract management courses).
• 8 – 10 years Legal Officer/ Paralegal experience specialising in construction or within the corporate environment.
• Minimum 5 – 8 years, Experience in Project / Operational Contract Management in Services or Construction Environment, particularly utilising internationally recognised Conditions of Contract (such as JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC, SCC etc)
• Meticulous, accurate, methodical, systematic
• Knowledge base: Construction / Build / Services environment.
• Corporate paralegal type role.
• Three to Five years’ experience in a similar position & environment.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Good interpersonal people skills
• Understanding Commercial Terms. Forward cover, forex, Incoterms
• We require the incumbent to mitigate all risks to the Company and thereby allowing business continuity.
