Job Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for receiving and processing payment for services rendered or parts/materials purchased. He/She explains vehicle service recommendations to customers, prints out and writes up estimates and invoices, and accepts payment in cash or through electronic point-of-sale equipment and credit/debit payment media. The Cashier records the payment amount and closes repair orders in the computer system. He/She must operate specific software programs to keep track of customer data such as service history, parts purchased, and/or contact information. He/She may need to calculate materials charges, repair charges, and taxes, and must understand various types of warranties.
The ideal Cashier candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year of money-handling experience, a pleasant and helpful demeanor, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and an affinity for math.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and appreciative fashion
- Answer telephone inquiries and route calls quickly and efficiently
- Receive and process payment for products and services using electronic point-of-sale processing equipment
- Process credit and debit transactions, checks, and other forms of payment
- Operate system software to accurately maintain customer data
- Encourage repeat business by acknowledging the customer's purchase with gratitude
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
