Underwriting Services in its Personal Lines Underwriting team has a position available for an UNDERWRITING ANALYST who will be based Hill on Empire, Parktown, Johannesburg.
What will make you successful in this role?
The purpose of the role is to support Portfolio Admin & Outsourced Business with:
- Monthly processing of renewals for all Outsourced Business Binderholders
- Manage renewal data cleansing and quality control.
- Recommend and communicate data clean-up actions to Binderholders
- Data modelling – enhancing and use of current models
- Broker renewal performance analysis
- Assist with renewal automation projects
- Continuous enhancement of the UW segmentation model
- Client Segmentation and application of differentiated renewal increases
- Alignment of renewal rules with rating changes and market forces
- Identification of performance and growth corrective actions
- Drive renewal implementation and monitor results thereof.
- On-site renewal audits from time to time
- Renewal report preparation and presentation to management.
- Analysis of Outsourced Business Portfolios and presentation of findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Insurance & Risk Management or Statistics or similar disciplines would be an advantage.
- Expert knowledge in MS Excel including use of advanced excel formulas
- 2 to 3 years general insurance experience will be an advantage
- Experience in working with large data sets
- Knowledge of data mining techniques
- Short term insurance pricing knowledge would be an advantage
