Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in the steel industry to join our client’s dynamic team.
Duties & Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of steel materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards to accurately estimate project costs.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and identify potential cost factors.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to provide accurate project pricing.
- Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and industry developments to make informed decisions during the estimation process.
- Review and assess subcontractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in bid review meetings and presentations to communicate estimates effectively and address any client inquiries or concerns.
Desired Experience & Qualification
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in the steel industry, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication techniques, material properties, and industry-specific challenges.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret project specifications and drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to optimize project costs and profitability.
