Main Purpose:
Join a JSE-listed insurance company as an Underwriting Administrator to support the underwriting team in Personal and Commercial Lines in Short-term insurance. Assist with policy management, compliance, and provide administrative support to enhance operations. Ideal candidates must have strong academic credentials and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- A-grade average in Matric (maths)
- BA, BSc or BCom degree
- Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
- Excellent academic record
- Strong mathematical skills
- RE5 certification
- 2+ years admin experience in short-term insurance
- Experience in an underwriting department
- Proficient in insurance management systems and MS Office
- Strong knowledge of commercial and personal lines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Team player
Duties:
Policy Administration:
- Support underwriters with administrative tasks
- Process new policies, renewals, and cancellations
- Review applications for compliance
- Maintain policy records
Data Management:
- Enter client and policy info accurately
- Gather documentation for underwriting reviews
- Keep records of policy changes and communications
Customer Service:
- Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients
- Respond to inquiries about policies
- Follow up on outstanding documentation
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure documentation meets standards
- Prepare and submit underwriting reports
- Monitor adherence to underwriting standards
