About this opportunity
This is a key role at the financial heart of LBG, underpinning the long-term sustainability and integrity of the organisation. We’re looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Software Engineer who has a passion for data, data viz, modelling and strategy to join our Insurance, Pensions and Investments (IP&I) platform.
By providing consistent, timely and high-quality data visualisations, you will allow our solution, enterprise and business architecture teams to make well-informed decisions about where we are headed
You’ll also support our leadership community in being able to respond quickly to requests across the group, by managing a consistent ‘single view of the truth’ when it comes to our Architecture estate – both current and target. You do not necessarily require a Solution Architecture background; but need to know and understand technology and be able to work with deeply technical peers.
The current toolset is centred around Tableau and, whilst a development background in Tableau would be advantageous; we will provide training and development for any successful candidates – and we are just as interested in your lateral-thinking approach to deriving and delivering insight from data as we are in your current coding capability. In this role you will:
- Work closely with Lead Solution Architects to influence and drive the long-term Insights strategy, collaborating with senior team members across I&W and the Group
- Lead on responding quickly and accurately to requests for information from across the Architecture community, all the while coaching to build self-sufficiency in that community
- Be responsible for realising the Insights roadmap – continually improving our data model, our integration with other sources of data, our data visualisations and increasing the ‘self-serve’ capability in our reporting toolset
About us
Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…
What you’ll need
- Experience of Data Visualisation and associated tooling (development in this space highly desirable)
- Understanding of data, data modelling and reporting
- Experience of agile software delivery
- Experience of Insights and Analytics tooling, ideally with some development experience in this area
- Sound understanding of Data Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Integration Architecture would be advantageous
- Understanding I&W Value Stream would be preferential; but not essential
- Demonstrates Group Values and championing inclusion and diversity
