We are seeking an experienced Deputy CEO to join our organization and play a key role in driving strategic initiatives, expanding business opportunities, and representing our esteemed organization in both Southern Africa and Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Drive the development of new business areas, acquire projects, and expand services to ensure sustainable growth and innovation in both the German and Southern African markets.
Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Prepare and implement strategic plans and oversee budgets, ensuring financial targets are met through revenue generation and grant funding.
Representation & Advocacy: Actively represent the organization at high-level economic and political events, both locally and abroad, fostering cooperation with public bodies, business associations, and industry stakeholders.
Leadership & Management: Work closely with the Board of Directors, oversee various Competence Centers, and take responsibility for the overall leadership of the organization, including standing in for the CEO when necessary.
Networking: Build, maintain, and extend industry-specific networks, ensuring the organization’s position as a key service provider in the region.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: University degree in Economics, Law, Communications, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant professional experience in foreign trade promotion, sales, and public body engagement, with 3+ years of experience in the Southern African region.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage personnel, drive business growth, and optimize processes.
Language Skills: Fluency in German (C2) and English is essential.
Knowledge: Intimate understanding of German Federal Ministry procedures, as well as the Southern African and German business markets.
Technology Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
Availability to Travel: Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
