Hotel Group with Hotels based in Randburg / Muldersdrift is looking for a Sales Executive focused on Weddings, Conferencing & Banqueting.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, set appointments and call on existing and potential new clients.
- Conduct client needs analyses, demonstrate capabilities, make initial recommendations, suggest products and obtain commitment to recommended properties.
- Follow company policies as it relates to the completion of contracts and paperwork to submit orders.
- Provide management with weekly sales reports summarizing actual sales, pipeline sales and lost sales.
- Responsible for creating and delivering client presentations.
- Obtain and provide the organization with information on specific clients within their territory using interviewing methods, internet, word of mouth and general research activities.
- Implement effective strategies throughout the year to achieve the monthly and total year budget.
- Maximize sales opportunities in the Corporate World, Event Management Companies, and Travel Industry regarding conferences, events and corporate functions.
- Research areas within the hospitality industry that impact sales for assigned region and target decision makers to present unique offerings.
- Accountable for individual sales goals and liaise closely with the Marketing Consultant to synchronize approaches and communication to market.
- Accompany prospective clients on-site inspections.
- Complete required contracts and paperwork timely for submission.
- Entertain clients/prospective clients who demonstrate potential for high spend or recurring business.
- Negotiate rates and terms. Finalize agreed rates, contracts, admin, etc.
- Compile Sales Pipeline and sales reports.
- Attend and report on sales in management meetings.
Requirements:
- At least 5 or more years of MICE sales and planning experience in similar establishments.
- Hotel or Event Management Certificate / Diploma.
- Strong negotiating skills and comfortable ‘asking’ for business.
- Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel programs.
- Experience with POS booking management systems.
- Proven knowledge and savvy with social media.
- Firm grasp of how to market, capture and convert business, knowledgeable of different cultures and trends.
- Extremely detail-oriented and creative at up-selling.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build rapport and problem solve independently.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
- Self-motivated with proven time management and organizational skills.
- Able to work in an open fast-paced environment and meet crucial deadlines.
- Able to relate to all levels of stakeholders both in and outside the organization.
- Ability to produce high-quality data entry with close attention to detail.
- Exhibit a ‘can do’ attitude with a passion for creating exceptional experiences.
