The purpose of GIA is to provide independent, objective assurance to our client's Board of Directors via the Group Audit Committee that the governance processes, management of risk and systems of internal control are adequate and effective in mitigating the risks (in line with GIA Internal Audit Methodology), both current and emerging, that threaten the achievement of the Group’s strategy and key objectives, and in so doing help improve the internal control and risk culture of the Group.
GIA receives its authority from the Group Audit Committee (GAC), which is a committee of the Board established to, among other things, review the work of Internal Audit for our client and its subsidiaries (the "Group").
Duties & Responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE SENIOR AUDIT MANAGER: FINANCE AND SHARED SERVICES
Purpose: To deliver on the annual audit plan thereby providing reasonable assurance to stakeholders that key risks are being mitigated through adequate and effective management controls in accordance with Group Internal Audit (GIA) methodology. Specific audit(s) to be executed by the Contingent Resource in H2 2024 encompass:
- Basel III Reforms - Capital and Leverage Ratio
- BA400/410/420 Operational Risk Reporting and Non-Standardised Approach (NSA) Calculation
Both are to run concurrently from 1 June 2024 to 30 November 2024 (960 hours).
The Manager / Senior Manager, in the discharge of his/her duties, shall be accountable for:
- End-to-end audit execution as required (planning, fieldwork, reporting)
- Documentation on TeamMate in line with the GIA methodology
- Developing and maintaining relationships with business and key stakeholders to ensure robustness and completeness of audit coverage and provide insights to enhance assurance provided over the control environment
- Writing the audit report for this audit
- Ad-hoc committee reporting
Qualifications Required
Essential qualifications required:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) SA or
- Certified Internal Auditor
Experience Required
The following minimum experience is required:
- Manager/Senior Manager equivalent with 10-12 years' experience with specific audit experience in:
- Internal / external audit
- Basel III experience in working on similar projects
- Experience on capital and leverage ratios and floors as required by Basel III
- Experience on auditing the end-to-end BA 400 series and the NSA calculation
